The component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services" cannot be assigned the action "Update" because AD schema is not upto date You must to run /forestprep swithc if you have already done this then you have to wait for replication .if Local Domain configuration is not upto date you have run domainprep else wait for replication . I have single domain 2003DC. Done exchange installation on another machine when I am updating SP2 for Exchange getting above error.

What version and service pack are you asking about? From your error, it appears that SP2 requires a schema update, forest prep and domain prep in all domains. (I know that to be the case with Exchange 2003 and 2010, but I don't remember about Exchange 2007.) Perhaps you don't have the right permissions. Now issue has been resolved , I have tried on new media its working fine now.. Earlier I have done everything . From switchs to Service Pack
